Ingredients:

  • 150g sushi-grade ahi tuna steak
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mixed seaweed salad (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1 radish, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

For Ponzu Dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons ponzu sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Season tuna with salt, pepper, and a light brush of sesame oil.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over high heat until very hot.
  3. Sear tuna for 30 seconds on each side (keeping center rare).
  4. Let tuna rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  5. Arrange seaweed salad on a plate.
  6. Place cucumber, avocado, and radish slices around the seaweed.
  7. Top with seared tuna slices.
  8. Whisk dressing ingredients together and drizzle over the salad.
  9. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
