Ingredients:

  • 1 cup glutinous rice (or substitute brown rice for more fiber)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons dried fish flakes (tuyo)
  • Optional: cinnamon stick while cooking

Instructions:

  1. Rinse rice until water runs clear.
  2. Combine rice and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
  4. Stir in cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  5. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until thick.
  6. Stir in coconut milk.
  7. Serve topped with dried fish flakes.
