Shanik sent me a link to Bakken and Baeck’s project, seen.space, which was a whole MSN-Tamagotchi inspired website in a direct messaging storytelling format that spoke to Asian identities in Europe (specifically Amsterdam).
Beautiful 3D and storytelling aside, I’ve been feeling weird about this resurgence of Internet Nostalgia intertwined with Asian identity. There’s a part of me that feels so seen, a relief that there are others who were in the same boat. But now it’s starting to feel like so many of us were here that it now… feels like a generalization.
